Steel ministry of India asks PSUs not to cut production amid the coronavirus outbreak

The steel ministry of India on Monday had asked the management of PSU’s not to cut down production in a meeting held to take control of the situation amid the coronavirus outbreak. The meeting was chaired by the Steel Secretary Binoy Kumar, via video-conferencing, with the senior officials of SAIL, RINL, NMDC, MOIL, and KIOCL among others.

Coal India Limited’s production drops 4 percent during current fiscal year

State owned coal miner, Coal India Limited’s coal production dropped by 4 percent to 451.5 million tonne (MT) in the current financial year so far, as compared to 469.6 MT produced in the same period last fiscal. 
 Coal dispatch by the company declined 5 per cent in the April-January 2019-20 period and Offtake also declined 4.8 per cent to 473.3 million tonnes.
