Auto steel and environment

Advanced high strength steel (AHSS) is extensively used nowadays accounting for more than 60 percent of automobile body structures. These have helped the automakers to reduce vehicle weight by 10 percent, thus enabling them to manufacture more fuel-efficient vehicles. Additionally, reduction in weight by 10 percent corresponds to lifetime saving of CO2 emissions by 2tonnes and hence it is making its footprint in developing a greener society.
