Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) said that it has started transportation of its already processed and royalty paid iron ore from Sarda Mines Pvt Ltd in district Keonjhar of Odisha following the Supreme Court's order issued last week.

As per data released by the World Steel, the global crude steel production for the year 2019 reached 1,869.9 million tonnes (Mt), an increase by 3.4 percent compared to 2018. The contraction in the crude steel production for 2019 was witnessed in all the regions except in Asia and the Middle East.

The World Trade Organization has agreed to engage in discussions and resolve amicably the dispute prevailing over the countervailing duties imposed by the US on certain hot-rolled carbon steel flat products from India. Some companies such as Essar Steel, Steel Authority of India Ltd(SAIL), Tata Steel and JSW were affected by the countervailing duties.

Factors such as the meniscus surface contours, level fluctuations, entrainment of the top surface mold slag, dissipation of superheat, temperature at the meniscus, entrapment of subsurface inclusions and gas bubbles have a significant effect not only on the quality of the final product but also on the productivity as well.
