The declining auto sales again in the month of November are becoming a concern for the auto makers. The poor market sentiments have forced the companies to reduce dispatches to the dealers. Passenger cars sales fell by 10.83 per cent at 160,306 units as compared to 179,783 units and SIAM held economic factors like slowing GDP responsible for auto industry’s performance.
Motorcycle sales were hit by an off take in rural areas .The sales reported declined by 14.87 per cent to 8,93,538 units when compared to 10,49,651 units sold in the same month last year.
Vans sales, too , also posted a negative growth of 34.32 per cent at 10,728 units as compared to 16,333 units in the same month last year.
As per the SIAM report, sales of commercial vehicles were also down 14.98 per cent to 61,907 units, which is mainly due to the slow down in the infrastructure sector.

Although, passenger vehicles sales fell marginally by 0.84 per cent to 2,63,773 in comparison with 2,66,000 vehicles sold last year during the same period.
Only SUVs have posted positive growth of 32.70 per cent selling 92,739 units as compared to 69,884 units last year.
As per the report by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the production of passenger vehicles in India rose by 4.06 per cent during the month of November but overall domestic auto sales fell by over 12 per cent to 17,92,415 units in November 2019 from 20,38,007 units in the same period a year ago.
