China’s daily production of crude steel rises 24.38%

As per the data released by the China Iron and Steel Association, China’s main steel mills witnessed a rise of 24.38% year on year on their average daily crude steel production in mid-February.

Main steel producers hit 22.82 million tons of crude steel in mid-February.

Daily pig iron production increased nearly 17% from a year ago throughout the period while rolled steel production increased 25.3% year on year basis.

The association said that the surge in daily production was due to low comparison base and an uptick in the domestic demand.
