JSW Infrastructure Ltd, the port operating unit of Sajjan Jindal-led JSW Group, commissioned a 370-metre long terminal, with a capacity to handle 18 million tonne per annum. The Group has invested Rs 750 crore to build an iron ore terminal at the Paradip port in Odisha. JSW commissioned its new terminal at Paradip by loading approximately 60,000 metric tonnes of iron ore pellets on the bulk carrier MV IC Phoenix for one of the country’s leading pellet manufacturer, Brahmani River Pellets Ltd.
Public sector steel major, SAIL is looking at 100 per cent stake sale in Salem Steel Plant (SSP) and is looking for a potential buyer.The Salem unit had already been modernized and expanded at an investment of Rs. 2,371 crore to produce 180,000 tonnes per annum of stainless steel slabs.It has added a steel melting shop, a single strand slab caster and roll grinder for hot rolling mill, and a cold rolling mill complex, which was a part of its expansion programme

Thermal cycling is of huge concern. The pre-heat of the lining is somewhat important as far as thermal cycling is concerned. The lining suffers from temperature loss when the ladle goes for slide gate inspection after slag dumping. If the activities in ladle slide gate plate inspection/ replacement involve too many activities the temperature drop is even higher
The major factor responsible for the crack formation is the impact due to the tapping stream which forces the slag sitting on the bottom to penetrate deep inside.
Ladle safety lining is very important as far as the prevention of ladle breakouts is concerned and at the same time, it helps in the retention of heat and protects the shell from cracking.
