Anil Kumar Jha appointed as the new Chairman of Jindal Power Ltd, a subsidiary of JSPL

Mr. Anil Kumar Jha has been appointed as the Chairman of Jindal Power Ltd (JPL), a subsidiary of Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL). Mr. Jha, a veteran of the mining industry, is a former chairman of Coal India Ltd (CIL).

Mr. Jha began his journey with Coal India Limited as a Junior Executive (Trainee) at Topa Colliery in Central Coalfields Limited in July 1983. He has held several leadership positions in higher position rising to the level of chairman cum managing director of Coal India Limited on November 1, 2015. Apart from being a mining graduate he also holds a M Tech degree from Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad.

His diversified work experience in the field of mine planning, production, management, supervision, direction and control of underground as well as open cast mines, spanned over three decades will surely help JPL create new benchmark.

Additionally, Mr. Jha is a member of the Expert Appraisal Committee (Violation) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and also the Chairman, Committee of Modernisation, Director General Mines Safety and member of Coal Mining committee in NTPC.
